THE BATTLE IN THE MIND

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to
the pulling down of strong holds;
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against
the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ. (II Corinthians 10:3-5)

THE PROPHETIC WORD OF GOD

The word "prophecy" means to speak forth. Bible prophecy includes three basic kinds of
speaking forth:

1. A message of inspiration from God.
2. Prediction of future events in God's eternal plan.
3. An interpretation for man of the acts of God.

God commissioned each prophet of the Bible to fulfill a particular role in His plan.

As interpreters they explained God's acts to men.
As spokesmen they voiced God's truth. They spoke messages of hope and
inspiration.
As prophets they predicted future events in God's plan through revelation given by
the Holy Spirit. The predictions of Bible prophecy are beyond the power of
human ability. They include a sufficient number of details to eliminate
speculation or guessing.

There are two basic ways in which God spoke through the prophets.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT:

Your daily walk (how you live) can be controlled by Satan working through your flesh, the
world, or demon powers if you permit it. You do not have to be controlled by the world, the
flesh, or the Devil. You can learn to walk in the Spirit:

THE KINGDOM BELONGS TO THOSE WHO ARE POOR IN SPIRIT:

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Matthew 5:3)

The world honors those with material wealth. God chooses the poor of the world and makes
them rich in faith:

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world
rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which He hath promised to them that
love Him? (James 2:5)
And He lifted up his eyes on His disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for
yours is the Kingdom of God. (Luke 6:20)

THE POOR ARE RICH AND THE RICH ARE POOR:
The world emphasizes the spirit of self reliance, self- expression, and self-improvement. But
God approves those who are poor in spirit who realize they have no ability to save themselves, to
satisfy their spiritual needs, or to solve their own problems.

Pray

Paul emphasizes that the battle is not a natural one and natural weapons are ineffective.
Spiritual battles must be fought with spiritual weapons

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand,

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace,

Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked one
.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit being watchful
to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the
saints...(Ephesians 6:13-18)

Multiplication Methodologies

The Bible records the creation of the world and the first man and woman (Genesis 1).
The first command given by God to these newly created people was to multiply:

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him;
male and female created He them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it...(Genesis 1:27-28)

This process was not only to be physical multiplication, it was also to be spiritual. As
Adam and Eve multiplied physically they would fill the earth with others like themselves;
people who knew God and walked in fellowship with Him. They would be reproducing
spiritually as well as physically.
The fall of man into sin interfered with this process (Genesis 3). Sin resulted in physical
death which hindered physical multiplication (Genesis 2:17). It also caused spiritual
death which is the spiritual separation of sinful man from a righteous God. This hindered
spiritual multiplication.
Because God loved man so much, He made a special plan to save people from this terrible
spiritual death. God sent Jesus Christ to die for the sins of all mankind. Jesus paid the
penalty of death in our place, then He overcame death by rising again from the dead (John
20).
Each individual must choose to accept God's plan of salvation by asking forgiveness for
sin and accepting Jesus as Savior.* As a believer in Jesus with sins forgiven, you are
saved from spiritual death.
Although the physical body will someday die, you will continue to live spiritually and
will receive a new body which will live forever:

THE DEFINITION OF EVANGELISM

The word for "evangelism" (or "evangelization") comes from a Greek word "evangelion."
There are actually four forms of this basic word. One word means "good news," two
words mean "to proclaim the good news," and one refers to the "evangelist" or person
doing the proclaiming.

Evangelism is not just a series of meetings or church services. Evangelism is not the
same as revival. Revival is the Lord at work in the Church. In revival, the emphasis is on
the presence of the Lord restoring life to His people.

Evangelism is the church at work for the Lord. In evangelism the emphasis is on the new
birth experience, the beginning of spiritual life. The renewal resulting from revival,
however, sets in motion the forces of evangelism which result in "new creatures in Christ"
so the two are tightly linked together in terms of spiritual life.
